Yuck! But still pretty impressive.

This was a gift from my Uncle Jim (who is an artist and has even had his work appear on the cover of a published book) in response to my sometimes over-the-top reaction to spiders and images or portrayals of them. I think he was specifically trying to get me to sympathize with their plight through anthropomorphizing them. Even by mixing my most despised of creatures with one of my favorite people!

I don't know if it had the desired effect on me, but you can judge for yourselves.

Best News EVAR!

Miss Nina "Loca" Flowers is coming to Chicago and will be performing just a few blocks from where I live! I must buy tickets and find something suitable to wear. On top of that, I will definitely be re-watching all of Season one of "Ru Paul's Drag Race" and brushing up on my "To Wong Foo". I can not wait!

Spooky

Just over a week ago I met Laurie Notaro at a book reading here in Chicago. She was very funny. I got a copy of her new book signed and spoke with her for a minute. She insisted that she had met me before. I assured her that she hadn't. We decided it was our curly brown hair that made me familiar to her and, almost in sync, we said we see each other in the mirror every day.

Now I'm really wishing I had taken a camera so I could post a photo. Well, you can just picture a 5'11" supermodel with great hair and lithe figure. Next, picture her standing next to a very similar supermodel. For accuracy, place them in a bookstore and give them both glasses. Got it? Good. Now (keeping the setting and glasses) picture the opposite and you should be pretty close.
